Senior General Ledger Accountant

As a General Ledger Accountant you will join the dynamic and international finance team of our client at the headquarters in Mechelen. You will get an overview of the entire accounting process and receive the chance to expand your skills by learning more about the international processes. 

Your responsibilities as a General Ledger Accountant:

• Managing balance sheet and profit & loss
• Consolidating and reconciling accounts
• Supporting accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing
• Supporting the preparation of VAT/CIT declarations, financial statements, and statistical reporting for 10 European countries
• Providing monthly reports and analysis for other departments

The General Ledger Accountant we are looking for has:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an Advanced Accounting role 
• Strong communication skills in English and Dutch (Business Proficiency)
• Knowledge of accounting principles such as Belgian GAAP 
• Preferably knowledge of VAT/CIT principles and non-deductible costs
• An analytical mindset and a high levels of ownership/independence 
• Strong Excel knowledge
• Preferably experience with SAP
